Chavereys is a distinguished firm of chartered accountants specialising in farming, landed estates, property and private client work. We are characterised by our quality, reliability and integrity and the rare expertise we have in our chosen sectors.
We operate throughout the UK.
Chavereys was formed in 1998 with the view that firms must be specialist in order to provide quality of service. Our focus was and still is on clients who want advice rather than clients who just want the compliance aspects undertaken.
The practice has grown rapidly since then and in 2006 we opened our East Anglian office.
There are four partners; headcount is just under 30 with a very high proportion of chartered accountants. We are a young, dynamic team and we have one of the best private client tax teams outside of London.
We publish the Monthly Farming Update (started by Prof John Nix) which has a wide readership amongst farmers and professionals.
Services often overlap, particularly where land and property are concerned. We therefore ensure we consider all aspects of our clients’ business and personal circumstances before giving advice. More importantly we recognise that what looks good on paper doesn’t always make good commercial sense or, most importantly, doesn’t fit the personal objectives of our clients. We specialise in the following:
- Financial and strategic consultancy
- Stamp Duty Land Tax
- Business structure, specifically farming companies and partnerships
- VAT issues associated with diversification
- Capital Gains Tax on land and property
- Accounting and auditing of farming businesses
- Trust and Estate Inheritance Tax planning
- Family disputes
- Agricultural Co-operatives
- Rurally focused charities
- Corporate finance
