The Alexander Centre is an important cultural and events venue in the heart of the historic town of Faversham. This iconic building is managed by an independent trust that was set up to preserve the centre for the local community, provide it with a sustainable future and restore its beautiful historic rooms and heritage features.
This fine Victorian property is superbly situated in the town centre, within five minutes of rail and bus and town centre car parking and amenities. The venue offers a wide range of flexible spaces for hire to the local community for business and leisure activities, weddings, training courses, classes, fairs and support groups.
Gatefield Hall & Bar
The Gatefield Hall is our main event space which is fully equipped with dance floor, full PA system and stage. As one of the largest venues available for hire in east Kent the Gatefield Hall has a seating capacity of 257 guests for a banquet layout, 180 guests for a dinner dance or 330 guests for a drinks and canapès reception.
Large kitchen facilities are available, as is the use of a private high walled garden area. Our fully stocked bar with its wide range of wines, beers and spirits is licensed until midnight (1am Fridays). It may be possible to extend these licensable hours should you require it, for a small fee.
The Gatefield Hall is also available for corporate hire and can accommodate events of up to 250 delegates seated in theatre style (120 cabaret style). All meeting spaces are equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi access and other equipment such as projector and large screen, white boards and flip charts, which are all available upon request.
