Edibleculture is based at the Horticultural Unit at The Abbey School, Faversham. We are edible-growing specialists and focus on native plants, education and experimenting with a style of growing respectful of nature in a realistic context.
Nursery and Shop
Everything is grown in our onsite nursery and everything seen is available to purchase and take home. Plants will include
- Vegetable plants
- Fruit trees
- Herbaceous perennials
As well as
- Peat-free composts
- Natural feeds
- Our handmade crate planters
- British-made tools
- Seeds including seed potatoes and onion sets
- Local coppice posts and fencing
We are passionate about sustainable working and keeping things local by partnering with local businesses to provide an interesting range of products and services to make your garden truly thrive. We pride ourselves on clear, honest advice with realistic pricing.
Education and pricing
We want visitors to Edibleculture to feel welcome, inspired, and educated so don't expect salesmen trying to push through a sale. We would rather explain to our visitors the benefit you will get from a certain plant and whether it is suitable for you and your garden, rather than sell you something that isn't suitable.
Through our work with the Abbey School students we are providing an insight into how a horticultural business is run. We are keen to pass our knowledge on to the next generation. This will also be demonstrated through our display gardens and courses ranging in subjects such as fruit tree pruning, edible gardening and propagation.
Through December our shop becomes a pop-up Christmas wonderland with Kent-grown Christmas tress, natively inspired wreaths, locally produced gifts and, of course, our great edible range. A number of courses will be running, including one that teaches you how make your own wreath and much more! So please inquire for details. The shop will be open from 10am to 5pm every day until Christmas.
