The
Rose & Crown,
Perry Wood,
Selling is found in the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty, surrounded by 150 acres of woodland.
This is a hugely popular walking and riding area hiding a wealth of footpaths linking, amongst others, the site of the old Shottenden Mill, an Iron Age earth works, the Drawing Room and the famous Pulpit (504ft above sea level) with its magnificent views of the surrounding Kent countryside and villages.
Once found, friendly staff and a warm welcome await in this award winning 16th century traditional English country pub.
While you sit by the roaring fire amongst horse brasses, old cask taps, corn dollies and black and white photos, you’re soon transported to the simpler life of days long gone.
Back in the real world with regular live music, speciality food evenings, Hog roasts, Beer festivals, treasure hunts for the children, and even the odd quiz are all on offer at this hard to be beaten freehouse country pub
Tim, Vanessa & the team are committed to environmental sustainability and green tourism.

Traditional Country Food
Tasty dishes made with fresh local ingredients wherever possible are served daily with a focus on Kentish and traditional country foods including game when available.
Winter Sundays offer a traditional roast with real roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. Traditional real ales, ciders and quality imported lagers along with a good wine selection add to the experience.
A light meal menu is available during the lunch time period along with the main menu, and in the evening the main menu along with our specials menu.
The light menu contains Jacket potatoes, filled rolls, salads, home made local gammon ham, peas & chips, scampi & chips and the Rose & Crown ploughmans.
The main menu is typically British with king prawn & crayfish tail cocktail as a starter, Steak & mushroom suet pudding or a local rump steak as a main followed by apple & raisin crumble to finish.
And then there is our specials menu where we put seasonal foods such as game or other non British dishes such as paella.
We serve food from 12noon to 2pm, Monday to Friday; 7pm to 9.30pm Tuesday to Saturday; 12noon to 2.30pm Saturday; 12noon to 2.30pm and 7pm to 8.30pm Sunday.
