At the Albion Taverna
you can experience the exciting colours and flavours of Mexican cuisine in the waterfront setting of historic Faversham. Freshly prepared, home cooked food with something to suit all the family.
Partners Dan Sidders and Gareth Finney with their winning Mexican formula at the Albion, have more than 550 happy diners visiting every week to enjoy authentic sizzling Mexican dishes.
Accent is on the relaxed, value for money dining, in great surroundings. Chef Gareth has totally transformed the menu and, with good local suppliers, you can be certain that the meat dishes will be succulent and tender.
Gareth loves everything about food and, with previous experience running four Mexican restaurants, the partnership is ideal for him.
“We make everything fresh, from our own refried beans and salsa to the guacamole,” said Gareth. "Our signature dish is Salmon Romesco- made with a Mexican pesto of sundried tomatoes, pinenuts, chilli and coriander paste on top of the salmon fillet. It’s delicious served on a bed of shallots and lemon drizzled green beans.”
The new season menu includes all the popular dishes, including the mega paella and the fabulous fajitas which are served on a bed of caramelised onions and red peppers. You can opt for chicken, steak or king prawn varieties.
There’s a fabulous selection of starters and main courses, from house nachos and garlic bread, to the Portobello mushroom with hot chilli crab and spinach, Latino’s oriental crispy duck platter and Mariscos (a small paella pan crammed with a selection of seafood).
Main courses are equally tempting, from Chicken piri piri and chicken burrito to the enchiladas, Taverna mussels (served with skinny chips and crusty bread), ribs, paella and, of course fajitas.
Traditional dishes are also available, including steak, bangers and mash, posh fish fingers and steak, mushroom and suet puddings (back by popular demand!). Lighter dishes are available at lunchtime, with a egg and chips a popular choice!
Add to that the sumptuous desserts, like toffee crunch profiterole sundae, a wine list that will take you around the world, and the famous Taverna hospitality, and you have all the ingredients for a great dining experience.
