The Loft at Acorns is peacefully situated in large private grounds in the hamlet of Dargate, in an area of natural beauty encompassing Blean Wood.
Furnished to a high standard, it is accessed by a flight of external steps into an entrance hall and utility area. There are doors leading to the modern bathroom, as well as to the light, open living space with a fully equipped kitchen, and dining and lounge areas. The Loft has a four-star rating from Visit Britain.
Acorns has miles of country walks on its doorstep and is ideally situated to explore east Kent, being less than 15 minutes from Canterbury and the historic towns of Faversham and Whitstable and 30 minutes from the Turner Centre in Margate. A day trip to France is achievable with fast and easy access to ferries and the Channel Tunnel.
Dargate is part of the parish of Hernhill, set in idyllic Kentish countryside and close to Whitstable and Faversham. Whitstable still has a working harbour with fresh fish for sale and a vibrant harbourside. Faversham is steeped in history, with many fine buildings; a creek runs to the centre of the town and Shepherd Neame, the oldest brewery in the UK, offers tours.
In Dargate, is the Michelin Guide-listed Dove, a 200m walk. It is a wonderful small country pub with a big reputation for outstanding food and service. There are a number of other excellent restaurants in close proximity, notably the Sportsman at Seasalter and Read's in Faversham.
