Alsace Baking is a dedicated Gluten-Free Kitchen which has been created for all cake lovers by a 'dairy-free coeliac chef' who understands the importance of a genuine gluten-free product. Alsace cakes are for everyone not just for people on restricted diets and are lovingly made with totally natural, fair trade and locally sourced ingredients.
Prior to her diagnosis 15 years ago Lorraine was a chef for private individuals and in stately homes. Through her undying passion for good food she has developed a wide range of gluten free food that’s suitable for sufferers of this autoimmune disease but is also a delicious treat for non-coeliacs. You can feel totally confident of the provenance of all her food. She is a member of Coeliac UK and has attained The Coeliac UK Private Sector Module.
Alsace can be found at the Gallery Café, Creek Creative Studios, 1 Abbey Street, Faversham, Kent, ME13 7BE. We welcome commissions for every day cakes, desserts and special occasion cakes.
Building on the success of last year's cookery demonstrations and culinary surgery where friendship groups of all ages were formed, Alsace Living are launching the Free From and Coeliac Community with a regular monthly coffee morning at Creek Creative, Faversham.
This will be a Positive Free From coffee morning each month, not only will Alsace's own Coeliac Dairy Free Chef open her coeliac culinary surgery to answer any of your cookery question, we are proud to announce consultant nutritionist Victoria Shorland will be joining each session, this will present a fantastic opportunity to address any of your dietary and nutritional concerns and watch cookery demonstrations.
In addition to Victoria and Alsace Free-From Chef there will be the following events -
- Confirmed for August: Young Kent Cook, Milly Jessop, will be demonstrating a child-friendly, gluten-free and dairy-free recipe.
- Reflexology and Reiki consultant Fran Ward.
- Phillip of Heaven and Earth, a local health food expert who will be discussing the benefits of exercise.
- Libby from Wheat's The Problem.
- Local food producers.
At each group there will be an opportunity to share recipes including a selection of Free From books and magazines to browse for inspiration. Culinary guidance with how to adapt traditional recipes and make them coeliac or free-from friendly.
"This will be ongoing positive experience for all with coeliac disease, and like myself, dairy-free." - Lorraine
