Mark Thatcher Cartoons, illustration and design
Mark is no relation to the ‘Iron Lady’, but an experienced and versatile illustrator and designer. His fun and lively cartoons capture and compliment individuals, and perk up and promote businesses.
You can hire Mark for a couple of hours (or longer!) to draw portraits at your event or function. The slightly exaggerated, but friendly drawings are popular at weddings, parties and corporate events. Corporate clients include the British Army, Tesco in London and Coty.
Cartoon portraits, drawn from your photographs
Mark can work with you to produce an amusing and flattering cartoon portrait. If you’ve always wanted to be a superhero, or to have the body of an athlete or supermodel, now’s your chance. Mark can encapsulate you, your family, your work colleagues or your team in a picture from A4 size upwards to a metre wide and beyond!
All you need is to supply clear photographs and some information about the subject(s), and Mark will create something unique and relevant, which can be as down to earth or way out as you like.
Mark also draws cartoons for businesses. If you need to clarify and liven up a sales meeting, commemorate an important deal, or promote yourself in an unusual way, Mark can help. All your staff members, their aims and achievements can be captured in a fun cartoon. Mark's cartoons make brilliant bespoke Christmas cards, which promote you and your work in an amusing and memorable way
A digitalised cartoon portrait is ideal for websites and social media. It can say more about you and your business than several photographs and paragraphs of text!
Cartoons and Illustrations for publishers and businesses
There's a funny side to almost everything, and a cartoon or comic strip brightens up even the driest subject. Mark's cartoons and illustrations have benefitted a wide variety of clients - in publications ranging from local newspapers to The Sun, charities like Dyspraxia Action and The Vegan Society, and all sorts of businesses.
Mark creates mascots and cartoon characters for publishers and businesses, such as Kent Messenger, Faversham Rewards and Thieme Meulenoff, the educational publisher in Holland.
Because sometimes only a jolly good logo will do!
When Mark isn't cartooning or designing, he enjoys doing detailed pen and ink drawings with a traditional dip pen and a bottle of Indian ink. He draws buildings, trees and anything old and interesting.
Mark welcomes commissions to draw houses large and small, pubs, shop fronts and public buildings. Previous clients include Kent County Council, Courage Brewery and Faversham Creek Hotel.
Mark grew up in Maidstone, but has had friends in Faversham since the 1970's and was a regular visitor to the town even before he moved here twenty years ago.
