HI KENT FOR HELP WITH HEARING LOSS
Hi Kent is the County of Kent's registered local charity for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Established since 1986, we received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2007.
We run a network of more than 250 support clinics throughout Kent, where our trained volunteers help people to get the most benefit from their hearing aids. Here they can have their hearing aids cleaned, re-tubed and free batteries supplied and fitted, locally within their own communities. Our services are provided free of charge while they wait, without having to make an appointment.
In Faversham we run these clinics for a complete week every quarter at Forget-Me-Not Centre, Middle Row (March, June, September and December).
We also run 32 Lipreading classes, which are also provided free of charge. Learning to lipread often makes a huge difference to the life of someone who has become isolated by their deafness and enables them to resume social interaction and enjoy life again.
Our Faversham Lipreading Class takes place on Mondays from 1pm to 3pm during term time at Brents Tavern, Upper Brents.
