Home / Community / Culture and Arts / Lynsted with Kingsdown Society

The Lynsted with Kingsdown Society was established to celebrate, study and promote the understanding of the Parish of Lynsted with Kingsdown. Coverage includes history, archaeology, folklore, flora, fauna and genealogy of the area. The Society will arrange meetings, lectures, social events and provide a repository and focus for material and resources relevant to the Parish.

To this end the Society:

  • undertakes research into the Parish’s heritage and natural history and make available to the public the results of such research;
  • arranges and compiles the results of the research to form the Archive of the Society;
  • mounts displays of local heritage and natural history material and provide, when required, advice and comment on these matters
  • invites guest speakers to give presentations and talks;
  • arranges visits to places of local and general interest;
  • holds social events (some exclusive to members).

The Lynsted with Kingsdown Society was established on 26th November 2003 and membership is open to all who have an interest in the Parish.  You may live in the Parish, or maybe you were born here but have moved away.
