In the year in which the current Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Faversham, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the official opening its site, Antony Millett, a town guide and a trustee of the Old Grammar School, gives a talk, “The Free Grammar School of Queen Elizabeth of England”.

He provides an insight into the circumstances leading to creation of the original school, its closure in 1538 and the granting by Elizabeth I of the 1576 charter that led to its re-opening.

This is one of the series of Town Hall Talks in 12 Market Place.
