Flavours of Faversham

The Flavours festival looks set to be better than ever. A weekend of events, offers, shows and exhibitions will play out against a panoply of fine food and drink.

Shepherd Neame, Britain’s oldest brewer, raise the curtain with their Local Beer and Food Evening on Friday 17 July. Combining a Brewery Tour and Tutored Tasting with a superb four-course dinner, each course is complemented by a specially selected beer. Fully inclusive price £34.95, advance booking essential - Telephone icon 01795 542285.

On festival Saturday Faversham’s historic street market will be boosted by growers and producers with their finest goods. Ancient Court Street and the unique Guildhall are the perfect street market setting.

All weekend Brogdale Farm’s Cherry and Strawberry Delight celebration will have live music, demonstrations, fruit tasting, bouncy castle, miniature railway and sheepdog display with geese! No extra charges and plenty of free parking. Home to the world’s largest fruit collection, Brogdale has more than 3,500 delicious heritage varieties, with more than 300 types of cherries alone. Entrance is £6 adults, £3 children (under 16) - Telephone icon 01795 534860.

And for the first time, Shepherd Neame and Brogdale are teaming up to produce a delicious festival ale - an exceptional Cherry Beer, of course!

Macknade Fine Foods will stage Combination Food and Drink Tastings, with the promise of extraordinary products from near and far. Free entrance. For details Telephone icon 01795 534497. Based at the Selling Road, on the outskirts of Faversham, Macknade is also taking part in the weekend-long food trail.

Award-winning Ardennes Restaurant in West Street will offer Faversham’s very own mouth-watering oysters. With national champion baker Oscars and Kent champion butcher Barkaway’s taking part and the area’s restaurants and gastro pubs all offering their finest fare, there will be something for everyone in and around Faversham, the Market Town of Kings.
