In the village of
Hernhill, just under three miles from Faversham is the
Three Horseshoes.
This is a pub that oozes history and atmosphere, it is Shepherd Neame's second oldest pub and dates back to May 1749.
The pub is built in a traditional Kentish style, with a white weatherboard exterior and a traditional Kent peg tile roof.
Mike and Vera Skipper have been landlords at the Three Horseshoes for ten years and were regular customers before that for fourteen years. The pub is a real hub of the community with its active pub cricket team, two darts teams and two quiz teams in the local league.
Twice a month the pub has live music, from a varied genre. Mike has a real passion for live music and enjoys selecting exciting musicians to showcase at the pub for everyone's enjoyment.
Food is an important feature of the Three Horseshoes and Vera is a talented cook and offers a traditional pub menu.
There is a small but sunny garden at the Three Horseshoes with picnic tables under the three hundred year old walnut tree, which still produces an abundance of fruit.
