There is an excellent train service from Faversham to Stratford International, where the Olympic village is located.
Faversham has been chosen as a host location for the Olympic Torch Relay and a big turnout is expected to welcome the Olympic Flame.

Press release from Martin Goodhew at Swale 23rd March 2012
http://www.swale.gov.uk/inside-swale/
The Council’s newsletter ‘Inside Swale’ will be distributed in June to nearly 60,000 households by Royal Mail across Swale and feature a four page centre pull out about the Faversham leg of the Olympic Torch Relay.
Our aim is to provide a map of the street level route, times and additional parking details together with a listing of an activity arranged in Faversham to welcome the torch.
Our Sports Development Team are already working hard to organise a ‘Sports & Activity Taster Event’ on Faversham Recreation Ground and are encouraging local clubs and groups to open their facilities for visitors to get a taster of what Faversham has to offer. If you wish to be part of this activity please contact James Thatcher on 01795 417109 or email jamesthatcher@swale.gov.uk
We are also encouraging local residents and organisations to use the London 2012 materials provided through the ‘Local Leader’ (http://www.london2012.com/get-involved/local-leaders/) participation programme to ‘bring the streets to life’ and line the route with fun and colour.
Mark James, Swale Borough Council Press Officer has provided a copy deadline of April 23rd for anyone wishing to include details of their ‘open day’, ‘plans to line the route’ or general ‘Olympic celebratory activity’.
I have been asked to collate any copy or information for editorial consideration for the 4 page pull out and would be grateful if you wish to feature your part in the once in a life time ‘Faversham Torch Relay’ please send me your details as soon as you have confirmed your activity.
Thank you
