Leave Faversham town centre by Ospringe Road. At the A2, turn right. Immediately past the pedestrian crossing, turn left into Water Lane and go on to Ospringe Church. This is the starting point of the walk. Follow the footpath from the back of the churchyard across the fields. When you come to a road, cross over and take the Painters Forstal road, crossing the M2. About a quarter of a mile on your left, you will come to a footpath with a gate, which takes you through to Lorenden Park. This was once a privately owned park of some considerable size, but is now open to the public at all times. There are very pleasant walks within the park, with footpaths leading in all directions. It may be worth staying in the park for a while before continuing through it and out on to the road back to Ospringe. If you require refreshments at this point, there is the Alma public house at Painters Forstal, a very pleasant, attractive pub. The village has sprawled out somewhat, but there are some very impressive buildings nonetheless.
