Featuring music, dance, visual art and more, Fav Va Voom will bring together art and artists from within Faversham and beyond, putting art into public spaces.
Organiser Martin Young said: “Fav Va Voom is a festival that allows all those with a passion for art to come and wow the town. If anyone wants to join in, they are very welcome to get in touch. We have taken into account that this year’s festival coincides with some of the celebrations to mark the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta. I think that it will be a great week of entertainment for everyone.”
Traditional Punch and Judy with Uncle Myles providing entertainment for children and adults alike outside the Alexander Centre from 10.30 am on 6 June.
Over a dozen Morris teams visit the town on 6 and 7 June, Travelling from across the country, they will performing in Market Place and other locations.
Local storyteller Ben Slythe will be at the Old Wine Vaults on Tuesday, 9 June, with an evening of four light-hearted tales on how satire and stories have been used throughout history including the Magna Carta.
Cantiana Choir and the West Faversham Community Choir will be appearing at Eastling Village Hall on Thursday, 11 June, with A Celebration of Music. Tickets from Bowstring Books, Preston Street, Faversham.
On Saturday, 6 June, illustrator Charlotte Firmin’s Drawing Exchange will be in Market Place from midday. Charlotte, who lives in Faversham, is one of the six daughters of Peter Firmin, who, with Oliver Postgate, created Bagpuss, The Clangers, Noggin the Nog and Ivor the Engine.
On Friday, 26 June, Let’s Dance for Roisin! will take place at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School. There will be a Barn Dance featuring the Faversham Navigation Steam Band. Tickets from Bowstring Books.
