The Faversham Hop Festival is an annual FREE two-day family event with a big emphasis on music. A number of stages are set up in the town and local pubs. Popular bands will be playing at the various venues throughout the weekend. All details of bands and schedules can be found on the official Hop Festival website.
The Hop Festival commemorates the golden days of hop-picking when families would come to Kent and pass the evenings with music and stories. Set against the backdrop of the ‘medieval gem’ of Faversham town centre, it is the ideal atmosphere to evoke memories whilst encouraging families and friends to meet and enjoy a variety of free entertainment.

You are asked to financially support the Hop Festival by buying a £2 wrist band. Outside of the Hop Festival they will be available to buy from the Fleur de Lis visitor center on Preston Street.

The best place to park is at the Abbey School. The car park will be attended by our marshals to help ensure security, and is just £5 per day per car (9am - 9pm) and £10 per day for a minibus. We are expecting a lot of visitors to this event, so to avoid pointless frustration driving around looking for somewhere to leave your vehicle, why not come straight to this easy to find area just off the M2 and sitting on the A2. We are also running a shuttle bus into town.

The 5 minute walk into town from the Abbey School is pleasant, quick and achievable by a number of routes (including the one straight down The Mall letting you sample, early on, the liquid delights on offer at The Crown and Anchor and The Elephant. The Elephant has a delightful "secret garden" that you may like to languish in before venturing into town).

Camping is available at the Abbey School as usual, but this year is being organised by the Hop Festival. Tents, campervans and caravans are charged per day as follows:-
Large pitch (suitable for caravan, camper van, or trailer tent, plus 1 car) £25 per night.
Small pitch (suitable for 2/3 man tent and motorbike) £15 per night.
Additional cars charged at £5 per car per night.

There is generally no need to pre-book camping, however you can now pre-pay and buy online here if you want to ensure your place

Toilets and showers are available at the campsite. There will also be food and drinks available all weekend, including cooked breakfasts each morning.

Live entertainment is also being provided on the Friday and Saturday evenings.
