The Faversham Hop Festival is an annual FREE two-day family event with a big emphasis on music. A number of stages are set up in the town and local pubs. Popular bands will be playing at the various venues throughout the weekend. All details of bands and schedules can be found on the official Hop Festival website.
The Hop Festival commemorates the golden days of hop-picking when families would come to Kent and pass the evenings with music and stories. Set against the backdrop of the ‘medieval gem’ of Faversham town centre, it is the ideal atmosphere to evoke memories whilst encouraging families and friends to meet and enjoy a variety of free entertainment.

You are asked to financially support the Hop Festival by buying a £2 wrist band. Outside of the Hop Festival they will be available to buy from the Fleur de Lis visitor center on Preston Street.

The best place to park is at the Abbey School. The car park will be attended by our marshals to help ensure security, and is just £10 for a full 24 hours (motor bikes - there is a hard standing area if you are also camping AND your parking charge is £5, not £10).
We are expecting a lot of visitors to this event, so to avoid pointless frustration driving around looking for somewhere to leave your vehicle, why not come straight to this easy to find area just off the M2 and sitting on the A2.

The 5 minute walk into town from the Abbey School is pleasant, quick and achievable by a number of routes (including the one straight down The Mall letting you sample, early on, the liquid delights on offer at The Crown and Anchor and The Elephant. The Elephant has a delightful "secret garden" that you may like to languish in before venturing into town).

Camping is available at the Abbey School as usual, but this year is being organised by the Hop Festival. Tents, campervans and caravans are charged per day as follows:-
Tents - £10
Campervans - £20
Car and Caravan - £25

If you arrive on Saturday morning, you can pay our car park marshals. If you arrive on Friday night, they will be around to collect your monies at about 9 o'clock on Saturday morning.

There is generally no need to pre-book camping, but we are hoping to have a web shop up and running very soon where camping and parking passes, amongst other items, can be pre-bought.

You must be off the premises by midday on the Monday morning (in case you do not feel able to drive after enjoying yourself on Sunday!).

Toilets will be cleaned and serviced regularly, and showers are available in the Sports Hall between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday.
