Home / Visit Faversham / Walking / Oare to Harty Ferry Walk
A delightful circular walk of about 6 miles, starting at Oare village, following Oare Creek down to the Swale and Harty Ferry on the Saxon Shore Way, and then returning to Oare through countryside along Church Road.

Start by the head of Oare Creek. To the right (east) of the Castle pub take sign-posted footpath through the gate across the field, through another gate by the boatyard and then follow the footpath northwards along the west side of Oare Creek towards the Swale.

Follow this footpath all the way to the mouths of Faversham and Oare creeks, and then bearing round to the left with the Swale on your right and Oare Nature Reserve on your left, go on to Harty Ferry. Here you will find the Kent Trust for Nature Conservation (KTNC) visitor centre.

At Harty Ferry, turn left on to the road and follow the road southwards into Oare, turning left at the Three Mariners pub to return to the start.
