Sheldwich and Badlesmere Walk

Home / Visit Faversham / Walking / Sheldwich and Badlesmere Walk
This is a circular walk of about 3½ miles from Sheldwich Lees and which takes you through Badlesmere Court.

From Faversham, take the A251 Ashford Road to Sheldwich, a trip of about four miles. Take the first turning left, just past Sheldwich Church. Follow the road; past the school on your right, you will come to the village green. There is easy parking on your left, opposite the green.

From the green it is mostly downhill towards Fisher Street. When you reach the bottom of the hill you will see the footpath on your right. Look out for a branch off to the right. This will lead you out of the valley and up into woods.

Leaving the woods, the path winds across fields (there are stiles to negotiate) to a cottage and a track skirting the green at Badlesmere. Where the track meets the main road, turn right along the track towards Badlesmere Court. Go through the farm and back to the starting point.

You will find this walk, along with nine others in the Faversham area, in the booklet Ten Walks around Faversham, available from the Fleur de Lis Heritage Centre.
