Faversham Footpaths Group was formed in June 2015 with the aim of preserving, maintaining and promoting the use of public rights of way in Faversham and the surrounding area and encouraging the creation of more public footpaths. Its full objects are:
The Group has campaigned, in particular, for better rights of way around Faversham Creek. It made representations to Natural England about the route which the England Coast Path should take and it has also been actively involved in promoting and supporting proposals for a continuous Creekside path along the front of the Faversham Reach and Waterside Close housing estates.
The Group is chaired by former Faversham town councillor Trevor Payne. Membership costs £5 a year. A membership application form can be obtained from the Secretary, Brian Caffarey, on brian.caffarey1@btopenworld.com or by phoning 01795 530356 or by writing to 130 Athelstan Road, Faversham, Kent ME13 8QW.
The Group's website is www.favershamfootpathsgroup.org.uk.
The Group organises occasional walks for members, and their families and friends, and those who might be interested in joining.
